Katy Perry: My Husband Has Been Deported!

katy perry russell brand
Katy Perry tweeted Sunday that her husband, British comedian and actor Russell Brand, was deported from Japan upon arriving in the country to watch her perform.

Taking to the social media outlet, the singer wrote, “So…my husband just got deported from Japan. I am so. sad. I brought him all this way to show him my favorite place #tokyodreamscrushed.”

An immigration official in Tokyo declined to confirm Brand’s deportation. “We don’t make comments on such a matter because of privacy concerns,” the official told AFP.

Later, Brand posted a series of messages and photos on his own Twitter account.

"Planning escape from Japanese custody. It's bloody hard to dig a tunnel with a chopstick," he wrote, alongside posting a picture of himself. "Stockholm syndrome kicking in. Just asked my guard out for (vegetarian) sushi. He giggled."

In fact, he may have escaped custody -- or at least was pretending to, writing, "Alcatraz! Shawshank Redemption! And now this! Ah, sweet blue bird of freedom!"

Brand’s time in detention left him developing sympathy for the authorities holding him, tweeting, “Stockholm syndrome kicking in. Just asked my guard out for (vegetarian) sushi. He giggled.”

Perry said the eviction stems from “priors from over 10 years ago!”

She also tweeted, “I think I’m turning Japanese, I think I’m turning japanese… I really think so. I love u Japan, I really do.”

Brand was arrested last September when he allegedly attacked a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport while shielding then-fiancee Perry from paparazzi. He married the 26-year-old in India last October.

Perry is in Japan for a series of concert dates in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.

Lady Gaga- she’s more powerful than Oprah! [Beware of incoming lightning bolt!] Forbes placed the singer at the top of its Celebrity 100 list, which ranks the most powerful people in the entertainment business.

The Poker Face singer toppled media mogul and TV presenter Oprah Winfrey from the top spot after notching up around 90 million US dollars from her world tour, digital downloads and other Gaga merchandise, including the MAC make-up, Monster headphones and Virgin Mobile phones she promotes in her videos.

"Lady Gaga beat Oprah this year because of her social media power. She can use Twitter and Facebook to work the "little monsters" into a frenzy that leads to record sales and media attention. She's the best example of how celebrities will need to manage their careers in the coming years," Forbes editor Dorothy Pomerantz said.

Winfrey, who next week ends "The Oprah Winfrey Show" syndicated TV chat show after 25 years, dropped one place from last year to No. 2 earning an estimated $290 million.

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber, 17, was the youngest to make the list and debuted at No. 3, earning $53 million from concerts and sales from his concert movie and documentary "Never Say Never."

Coming in at No. 4 was U2, earning $195 million and Elton John, who earned $100 million.

Forbes said its earnings figures consist of pretax income between May 1, 2010, and May 1, 2011

Rounding out the top ten for 2011 was golfer Tiger Woods, earning $75 million, country singer Taylor Swift, rock band Bon Jovi, British music producer and "The X Factor" judge Simon Cowell and U.S. basketball player LeBron James.

Former "Real Housewives of New York" star Bethenny Frankel, who used her latest TV show, "Bethenny Ever After" to promote her Skinnygirl brand of drinks she sold for $100 million, landed at No. 42.

The biggest gainer from last year's list was Leonardo DiCaprio, moving up 56 spots to a ranking of 71.

Dropping out of this year's list that includes film and television actors, TV personalities, models, athletes, authors and musicians, was Britney Spears, who didn't tour in 2010, as well as "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe.

The collective total earnings of the top 100 dropped this year from last year, from a collective $4.7 billion to $4.5 billion.

Katy Perry: Fantastic Voyage

Katy Perry: Fantastic Voyage
Katy perry singer "Teenega Dream" became the cover of March issue of Elle magazine.
In the interview she talks about her marriage, career and full-think his past (he never wanted breast reduction).

Excerpts from Elle's press release follows; scroll down to see photos and more here.

On her body:
"I was shaped like a square at one time. I was! I'm generally around 130 pounds, which is totally fine for me. But when I was a kid, I was the same height and weighed more like 145. And I had enormous boobs that I didn't know what to do with, so I wore minimizers, which were not cute. Those thick-ass straps! I got made fun of for the over-the-shoulder boulder holder...and all I wanted was to look like Kate Moss. Little did I know...that these things would come in handy someday."

On her relationship with her husband, Russell Brand:
"Everything clicked really fast. We kind of instantly got past all the surfacey stuff. And ever since then, there hasn't been a dull moment."

On how their relationship works:

"We both needed balance, and we give that to each other. It wasn't about me taming him, which is what everyone always says - it was about timing."

On performing:
"I think some people will die on the stage, and I'm not so sure I want to do that. Like, I want to have kids! I'm totally fine with saying that. I think some people are scared because they're worried it's going to ruin their career, but I want to live a full life."

On her career:
"I feel like I'm at a point in my life right now where I could potentially stick around. I don't feel like a diva, but I think diva is a great and powerful word in the sense of what Beyonce makes it. And maybe I can't be Beyonce, but maybe I can be Cyndi Lauper. I mean be like her, not be her. That would just be weird."

Katy Perry Teenage Dream

katy perry teenage dream

Katy Perry "Teenage Dream", will move you, both emotionally and physically. "When I was touring, I wanted people to dance more," Katy says. "So I wrote an album that made people move, yet didn't sacrifice the story substance that I had on the last record." The album, whose producers include Max Martin, Tricky Stewart, Stargate, Dr. Luke and Greg Wells, is a glorious evolution from "One of The Boys," It showcases an artist who dares us to join her as she experiences every facet of life.

"I'm giving everyone the full spectrum on this record," Katy says. "You're getting the sugary sweet, but you're also getting the `Oh my goodness, she had to sit down for a minute and let some things off her chest'." Fun first single, "California Gurls," declared by Entertainment Weekly as "unforgettable," is the undeniable summer anthem of 2010. Featuring Snoop Dogg, "Gurls" is a sizzling salute to sun-kissed days spent in Daisy Dukes and a bikini top. Other album highlights include the heartbreakingly wistful "The One that Got Away," the naughty, playful strut of "Peacock," the uplifting "Firework," the pulsing, stinging "Circle the Drain," and the spiritual quest of "Who Am I Living For."

And then, of course, there's the passionate, thumping title track. "I called the album `Teenage Dream' because I feel like I will always want to be that pin-up poster," Katy says. "I definitely want to be in everybody's dreams at all times until I get to Liz Taylor's age when I'm not in your dreams anymore, and I'm just a diva!"

It's irreverent statements like this that have branded Katy a true American original. She's the extremely talented girl next door with slyly captivating charm. After Katy topped Maxim's Hot 100 this Spring, Maxim editor-in-chief Joe Levy mused of her appeal: "It's that feeling you get when you suddenly realize that the smartest, funniest, coolest girl you know also happens to the best looking and a pretty good skateboarder, too. All of sudden, your crush goes supernova, and this is Katy's supernova moment."
