Lynda Carter Approve Of New 'Wonder Woman' Adrianne Palicki

Casting Adrianne Palicki seemed like a good move, and may well have been, but the first draft of the costume was terrible, and revisions only partially rectified things. But the costume isn’t the only thing getting revisions.

More problematic is word that the pilot script kicks off a series. That reportedly involves three separate identities, a good deal of crying and an Ally McBeal tone that doesn’t sound very Wonder Woman at all. The latest round of info is that script revisions were done late in the process, as the pilot was shooting, to make the show a bit more tough.

New Wonder Woman Adrianne Palicki can breathe a bit easier now, now that she’s got the seal of approval from the original Wonder Woman.

During an interview with Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Tuesday’s Access Hollywood Live, Lynda Carter talked about the "Wonder Woman" reboot from David E. Kelley and the show’s new leading lady.

"She’s got quite a body! She looks good", Lynda told Billy and Kit of Adrianne, when shown a photo of Adrianne in the iconic superhero costume.

While Adrianne’s reboot costume sticks fairly close to the original, with the wrist cuffs, gold lasso and red corset top, there are a few differences, such as blue pants instead of short shorts.

io9 has the new script, and the short version is that there’s more violence lifting bad guys by their throats, gouging eyes, high kicks and more.

As the new Wonder Woman has rapidly gone through development, casting and started shooting, many have wondered if the original and still iconic TV Wonder Woman would make an appearance. Speaking to The Talk (via MTV), Lynda Carter said this week,

I’ve talked to David E. Kelley, who’s a brilliant writer, a number of times and we’re hoping to plan something. But I cannot reveal she said, not wanting to give too much away. David E. Kelley is full of surprises, so you never know what’s going to happen.

Adrianne Palicki on "Elektra Luxx"

Adrianne Palicki on
Adrianne Palicki on "Elektra Luxx"-recalled actress Emmanuelle Chriqui on giving Adrianne Palicki a lap dance. Granted, they were on a set for the new indie movie Elektra Luxx but Chriqui smiled in reflecting about shooting the scene. “It was kind of a thing that came together,” she said, satisfied with the end result in the film. Chriqui also said it helped that the film’s director/writer, Sebastian Gutiérrez, knew what would help the sexy brunette cut loose while straddling Palicki’s tight midsection.

“Sebastian, for example, knows about me that I love to dance,” Chriqui said. “All you have to turn music on and I’m right there. He was like ‘Emm, do your thing’ and you could kind of celebrate that about me, which made it really safe.”

In the independent film, which opens this weekend in limited release, pregnant, retired porn star Elektra Luxx (played by Carla Gugino) is trying to reinvent herself but is blackmailed into seducing a woman’s fiancée. Elektra’s porn star buddy Holly Rocket (Palicki) and prostitute Bambi Lindberg (Chriqui) are on their own journey while vacationing in Mexico. In fact, Holly, who happens to be a bit dim and linguistically challenged, has a long-standing girl-crush on Bambi and tries to sabotage a double date with two men so perhaps the two ladies can truly be together.
