Following reports that the two were having virtual dates via Skype, the 26 year old crooner confirmed that he and the brunette beauty were an "official" item.
"American Idol" castoff Paul McDonald has finally put rumors to rest on his budding romance with "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed.
And though they are "officially dating," the latest 'Idol' castoff admits the couple doesn't "get to see each other too much because they're both working so hard."
"Nikki's supercool," the 26 year old singer gushed. "She's been real supportive of this whole thing. She's actually pumped up now because she likes my original material way better than all the stuff I do on the show."
He also told the magazine that he and Reed hit it off immediately: "It was weird. I haven't ever actually watched any of her movies. I don't know too much of her career at all, but the person she is is super cool."
"I told her I'm not watching any of her movies for a long time... She said, 'I don't want you watching' and I was like 'I don't want to!'" he added.
As for the other rumored 'Twilight' and 'Idol' romance between Taylor Lautner and Lauren Alaina, McDonald wouldn't reveal much. "I don't know. I think he's just a fan of Idol in general. He seems like a really cool dude. I don't know too much about that," he said.
